Man found shot and killed Sunday morning in Kansas City apartment

A man was found shot and killed Sunday morning inside an apartment in Kansas City, according to police.

Police responded to the shooting about 8:15 a.m. at an apartment in the 2600 block of East 29th Street, near Prospect Avenue, said Sgt. Jacob Becchina, a Kansas City Police Department spokesman.

Officers found a man shot inside an apartment. He was declared dead at the scene.

One person was arrested and was being questioned about what led up to the shooting, Becchina said.

The death is being investigated as a homicide.

Detectives were canvassing the area for witnesses and working to identify the victim. Crime scene investigators were processing the scene to gather evidence of what led up to the shooting.
