Fatal shooting near Gregory Boulevard marks 2nd homicide reported Saturday in KC
A man died from his injuries after a shooting Saturday night in Kansas City, according to police.
Kansas City police officers were called around 7:30 p.m. to the area of Gregory Boulevard and Flora Avenue to investigate a report of a shooting.
Neighbors in the area reported hearing multiple gunshots and seeing a person lying in the street, police said in a news release.
Arriving officers found a man just south of the intersection. Police said he had been shot multiple times.
The man was taken to a hospital, where he died. His identity has not been released.
No arrests have been announced, and police had no information on a possible suspect.
Police searched the scene for evidence and were looking to speak with witnesses Saturday night.

The killing was the second homicide Kansas City police have responded to Saturday. Earlier in the day, before 4:30 p.m., police were called to the intersection of 38th Street and Monroe Avenue after a man was seen lying in the street. Police were working to determine how he died but said the death was being investigated as a homicide.
The deaths Saturday marked the 139th and 140th homicides reported in the city this year, according to data maintained by The Star, which includes fatal police shootings.
