Kansas City police investigating homicide after man found fatally shot at gas station

Kansas City police were investigating after a 42-year-old man was found fatally shot at a gas station.

The incident was reported at 9:33 a.m. Saturday at Jubilee Market, 2410 Hardesty Ave.

“(Officers) located a victim who was inside his vehicle at one of the pumps,” said Capt. Tim Hernandez, a spokesman for the Kansas City Police Department. “Right now we don’t have any suspect information, but we’re trying to determine what happened out here.”

Hernandez said officers were talking to business owners and residents in the area, and checking surveillance.

Police later identified the victim as Oscar Molina.

Molina’s death is the 117th homicide of the year in Kansas City, according to data maintained by The Star.
