Two men wearing Halloween masks fire shots during bank robbery in Leawood, police say
Authorities in Leawood were looking for two men who allegedly fired shots inside a bank and robbed it Wednesday night, police said in a news release.
The robbery happened about 5:40 p.m. at the Wells Fargo bank at 103rd Street and State Line Road.
Police said the suspects were described as wearing Halloween masks. Police also said one suspect was wearing a yellow hooded sweatshirt, while the other was wearing a black hoodied sweatshirt.
The pair, armed with handguns, went into the bank and fired several shots, police said. No one was injured.
Police said the men left the scene with an unknown amount of money.
The suspects were last seen driving south on State Line Road in a black Mazda Protégé or Nissan Altima with a white, blue and yellow rear license plate.
The FBI is investigating the robbery with help from the Leawood Police Department and Johnson County Crime Lab.
