Man admits killing woman in her Shawnee apartment
A 55-year-man admitted Thursday that he killed a Shawnee woman in her apartment last year.
Gregory Paul Wright II pleaded guilty in Johnson County District Court to a charge of premeditated first-degree murder in the death of 44-year-old Monica Lee.
Lee was found dead on May 9, 2016, inside her apartment in the 7500 block of Flint Street.
Wright, who stole Lee’s car after she was killed, was arrested in Virginia about a month after the murder.
Sentencing for Wright is scheduled for Jan. 10. He has been in custody since his arrest in June 2016.
