An Olathe man died in a wrong-way crash on U.S. 169 Highway near W 183rd Street in Spring Hill, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

An online crash log says the crash happened just after 11 p.m. Friday as a Nissan Rogue drove north in the southbound lanes of U.S. 169.

The Nissan collided with a Ford F-150 pickup truck that was driving south in the southbound lanes of the highway, the crash log said.

The driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene. The highway patrol identified the driver as Naol Gemeda, 31, of Olathe.

Paramedics transported the driver of the F-150 to a hospital with serious injuries.

The Spring Hill Police Department closed part of the highway early Saturday morning as troopers investigated the scene.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
