Man found shot to death in Platte County home. Deputies arrest suspect
One man died in a shooting in an unincorporated part of Platte County, Missouri Thursday, and one man was taken into custody, the sheriff’s office said.
Platte County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded around 10:45 p.m. to a domestic disturbance at a residence near the 8700 block of Northwest Hillview Road Circle.
Deputies found a 36-year-old man with gunshot wounds dead inside the residence, according to Capt. Jeffrey Shanks, a sheriff’s office spokesman.
Other occupants who were inside the residence at the time appeared to be unharmed, Shanks said in a news release.
Police have not yet publicly identified the man who died.
No information was immediately available about what led to the shooting.
A 57-year-old man was taken into custody at the Platte County jail Thursday and placed on a 24-hour investigative hold, Shanks said. It is unclear whether the man was still in custody Saturday.
Platte County Circuit Court records do not show official charges being filed as of Saturday.
A spokesperson for the Platte County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond to questions about the case.
An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
