One person in critical condition after skid-steer goes into Shawnee pond

One man is reportedly in critical condition following an accident at a Shawnee pond where a skid-steer loader went into the water Thursday morning.
The pond is located on private property, according to Emily Ritterman, a Shawnee spokesperson.
At around 10:30 a.m. emergency crews to called to the pond at 6091 Woodland Drive after the construction vehicle went into the water behind Bratton Brothers Contracting Inc.
Two bystanders attempted to help rescue the man out of the water before the emergency crews arrived, according to Johnson County MED-ACT.
The incident is currently being investigated.
