Was sidekick to Jason Whitlock
Dodds was known as a sidekick of Jason Whitlock during his radio career, and for his appearances on the Fox Sports program “Speak for Yourself.”
Whitlock is a former Kansas City sports columnist who now hosts “Fearless with Jason Whitlock” for the conservative media company Blaze Media.
Whitlock streamed an episode on his YouTube page Tuesday to remember Uncle Jimmy.
“I want to do the best that I can to celebrate Jimmy,” Whitlock said. “For maybe 25 years, Uncle Jimmy was a huge part of my life.”
The memorial episode and posts on social media recounted Dodd’s humorous and caring personality.
Marcellus Wiley, a sportscaster and former professional football player, said on social media that Dodds’ “jokes were legendary and his heart was even bigger than his personality.”
“Thank you for the laughs, the wisdom, and the memories. You were truly one of one,” Wiley said in his post. “Rest easy, Uncle Jimmy. Your spirit, your humor, and your impact will never be forgotten.”
