Kansas City Airport is getting a new flight to this Florida city
Kansas City International Airport continues to add direct flights for its customers.
On May 19, Allegiant Travel Company announced that it added eight new nonstop routes to its network, one of them being a route through Kansas City. Starting Oct. 2, Kansas City travelers can fly between Fort Lauderdale, Florida, through Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport International Airport and Kansas City.
On top of the direct flight, Allegiant is offering reduced prices on their additional flights. For a limited time, one-way fares between MCI and FLL can be as low as $79.
Travelers can also earn a thousand Allways Rewards points on flights through the new routes. To claim them, you’ll need to have an Allways Rewards account, and you must book a flight between May 19 and June 18, 2026, for travel dates between Oct. 1, 2026, and Feb. 9, 2027.
“We’re excited to announce these new routes and believe it is an important time for Allegiant to increase travel options in these markets,” Drew Wells, Allegiant’s chief commercial officer, said in a press release. “Our mission is to offer service where it is needed most, and these additions ensure that affordable fares can remain available to consumers despite industry changes.”
The other markets that received a direct flight to Fort Lauderdale include Boston, Omaha and Pittsburgh. Flights can be booked at allegiant.com.
This continues a trend of MCI providing additional nonstop flights from its airport. Just last month, a direct flight from KC to Los Angeles was introduced by United Airlines.
