Motorcyclist dies after hitting vehicle in Kansas City, Kansas
A motorcycle rider died Saturday after hitting a vehicle in Kansas City, Kansas, police say — the third motorcyclist death in the Kansas City area in the past month.
The crash occurred Saturday evening on 78th and Parallel Parkway in Kansas City, Kansas, according to a press release from Officer Tykeasha Berry, spokesperson for the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department.
At approximately 6:40 p.m. Saturday, a man was riding a motorcycle on eastbound Parallel Parkway when he collided with a vehicle, Berry wrote. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the press release.
No one else was injured, officials said.
The police department has not released the name of the victim.
This marks the third motorcyclist death in the Kansas City area in the past month.
On April 22, Michael Wolcott, 33, died after attempting to pass a tractor trailer on his motorcycle in Riverside.
On April 12, Richard Andrew Hawthorne left the roadway on his motorcycle and collided with a utility box in Kansas City, Kansas. The 32-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
