Royals ballpark at Crown Center
The Kansas City Royals and Hallmark Cards announced Wednesday they will partner on a project to bring a ballpark and other development to Crown Center. Crown Center is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, which could unlock state and federal tax credits to help rehab and repurpose historic buildings as part of a broader redevelopment.
Severe storms heading for KC
Two rounds of severe storms could sweep across Kansas City starting Thursday evening, with damaging winds as the top threat, according to the National Weather Service. A storm line could move through the metro between about 9 p.m. and midnight, and the Storm Prediction Center has placed the area in a slight risk, Level 2 of 5, for severe thunderstorms.
Cocktail lounge opens at KC Live! District
A new cocktail lounge called The Residence has opened in the KC Live! District at 14th and Main streets. Architect David Manica designed the space to feel like rooms inside a mansion, likening it to Bruce Wayne’s house, and it will seat about 100 to 150 people.
