Chappell Roan drops LA talent agency after CEO’s name pops up in Epstein files

Chappell Roan has dropped her Los Angeles talent agency after the Epstein files revealed a connection between founder Casey Wasserman and Jeffrey Epstein’s co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell.

Files published by the U.S. Justice Department late last month contained flirtatious emails Wasserman founder Casey Wasserman exchanged with convicted sex offender Maxwell. Wasserman was married at the time.

Maxwell is in prison after being convicted for her role in a scheme to sexually exploit and abuse underage girls with Epstein over a decade. On Monday, Maxwell repeatedly invoked her Fifth Amendment right to stay silent in a closed-door virtual deposition before the House Oversight Committee, refusing to answer any questions about Epstein.

The “Pink Pony Club” singer, a Missouri native, announced her move in a statement posted in an Instagram Story Monday night.

“As of today, I am no longer represented by Wasserman, the talent agency led by Casey Wasserman,” it said.

“I hold my teams to the highest standards and have a duty to protect them as well. No artist, agent or employee should ever be expected to defend or overlook actions that conflict so deeply with our own moral values.

“I have deep respect and appreciation for the agents and staff who work tirelessly for their artists and I refuse to passively stand by. Artists deserve representation that aligns with their values and supports their safety and dignity.

“This decision reflects my belief that meaningful change in our industry requires accountability and leadership that earns trust.”

Roan has been represented by the agency since 2023, according to reports.

Wasserman’s name came up in the Epstein files last month.

I deeply regret my correspondence with Ghislaine Maxwell which took place over two decades ago, long before her horrific crimes came to light,” he said in a statement at the time.

“I never had a personal or business relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. As is well documented, I went on a humanitarian trip as part of a delegation with the Clinton Foundation in 2002 on the Epstein plane. I am terribly sorry for having any association with either of them.”

Roan is the biggest name to dump the firm after the connection between Wasserman and Maxwell became public. In recent days, Best Coast’s Bethany Cosentino, and bands Beach Bunny and Wednesday, also have left the agency, Deadline reported.

Billie Eilish and her brother left Wasserman last year when Wasserman was accused of being a “serial” cheater involved in numerous alleged affairs with junior staff members.

Wasserman is also chairman of the organizing committee for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. A growing number of LA politicians have expressed concern that his Maxwell ties are a growing “distraction.”

Wasserman, who has been in Italy for the Winter Olympics, has not commented on Roan’s departure.
