Chappell Roan is the latest addition to Fortnite. See her video game costumes
The latest star added to free-to-play video game Fortnite is turning it into the Pink Pony Club.
Epic Games announced that Missouri-born pop superstar Chappell Roan will be a playable character, joining a wide list of celebrities whose likenesses are playable by hundreds of millions of users around the world, including Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
The Grammy-winning artist from Willard, Missouri, joins the game Thursday, Feb. 5, as the headlining act in its Festival mode, a rhythm game similar to Guitar Hero and Rock Band. She’ll come with three costumes — or skins as they’re called in-game — and other accessories. One of the cosmetics will be available in the game’s shop and the other two can be earned by upgrading levels in the game’s 13th Music Pass.
“Please give me a skin, please,” Roan said in an interview last year. She has posted on her Instagram pictures of her playing the game in the past.
What are Chappell Roan’s Fortnite looks?
The costume that will be available in the shop starting Thursday is titled “Roan of Arc,” and is based on her look for her performance of “Good Luck Babe!” at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards.
You can also purchase a Pink Pony sidekick, an emote with her song “Femininomenon” and a medieval sword acting as a pickaxe, which is used in-game to cut down objects to use as building resources. A “Pink Pony Club” emote will also be available in the shop, with a dance created by Ryan Heffington.
The Season 13 Heartcore Music Pass features two costumes based around her past tour looks. Gamers who purchase the pass will immediately receive a pink costume, complete with glittered cowboy hat. The look is based off a past tour outfit worn during shows that highlighted a “Pink Pony Club” theme, like both nights in Kansas City in October 2025.
If you choose to purchase the pass, you can gain levels from playing many of the game’s modes, like “No Build,” “Rocket Racing,” or “LEGO Fortnite” and unlock a red costume, based off her tour’s “My Kink Is Karma” theme. Progressing through the music pass will also unlock cosmetics like the Pink Pony Star Back Bling, Midwest Princess Keytar, Subway Serenader Mic and Drumset Supernova.
The game’s Fortnite Festival mode also receives a stage update based around the design Roan used for her Visions of Damsels & Other Dangerous Things Tour stops throughout the United States, including KC.
How much will it cost to purchase Chappell Roan’s Fortnite skins and cosmetics?
The cost for each cosmetic will be revealed Thursday, Feb. 5, but they can be purchased using the game’s virtual currency known as V-Bucks. Previous music passes cost 1,400 V-Bucks, or free if you are a Fortnite Crew subscriber, which costs $11.99 monthly.
Character bundles vary in cost of V-Bucks. For example, the current bundle for k-pop singer LISA costs 2,500 V-Bucks, while pop superstar The Weeknd’s bundle cost 3,100 V-Bucks.
- 1,000 V-Bucks: $8.99
- 2,800 V-Bucks: $22.99
- 5,000 V-Bucks: $36.99
- 13,500 V-Bucks: $89.99
Players will soon be able to run around with a team of Roan, Sabrina Carpenter and Billie Eilish, who were all previous Festival headliners.
