Police identify two teens killed in double fatal crash, fire in Olathe

Police have released the identities of two teens who died after their vehicle hit a tree and caught fire in Olathe Saturday.

Hayden C. Doherty, 16, of Overland Park was driving the vehicle, according to Sgt. John Moncayo, spokesperson for the Olathe Police Department. The passenger was identified as 17-year-old Addison Askew of Olathe.

The Olathe Police Department was called around 10:39p.m. to the area of Northgate Street and East Harold Street because of an iPhone crash notification, according to Sgt. John Moncayo, spokesperson for the Olathe Police Department.

At the scene, officers found a vehicle that had hit a tree and was engulfed in flames. The fire department extinguished the fire and the bodies of the two teens were found inside.
