Two dead after vehicle hit tree and caught fire in Olathe, police say

Two people are dead after a vehicle hit a tree and caught on fire Saturday night in Olathe .

The Olathe Police Department was called to the area of Northgate Street and East Harold Street because of an iPhone crash notification, according to Sgt. John Moncayo, spokesperson for the Olathe Police Department.

At the scene, officers found a vehicle that had hit a tree and was engulfed in flames. The fire department extinguished the fire and the bodies of two people were found inside.

The identity of the occupants is pending an autopsy, according to Moncayo.
