Who is the cutest dog in the Kansas City area? Help us pick a winner now

Kansas City is filled with dogs of all shapes, colors and ages, enjoying the metro area’s parks, outdoor recreation, dog-friendly businesses and more.

And obviously so many of those dogs you’ll see around town have gorgeous fur, or a face you can’t help but love or an unforgettable personality. But which is the cutest?

We set out to find the cutest dog in the Kansas City area in a nonscientific but very fun poll. After asking our readers for their submissions, we received more than 80, and had to cut that down to 50 furry friends.

After a round of voting on those 50, we now have a top 10 and are ready to crown a winner.

These guys and gals are the 10 finalists for the Star’s 2025 cutest dog in KC contest.

The dog named the cutest in the Kansas City area will go on to face the winners of other dog contests across the U.S. at other McClatchy newspapers. The winner will be announced Tuesday, Nov. 4.

Round 2 of voting will be open until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31.

Anyone can vote in the poll, and, if you want to vote multiple times, just refresh the page.
