Chappell Roan visited an Andy’s Frozen Custard in Kansas City on Thursday, the night before the Grammy-winning “Midwest Princess” began a two-night stand here.
That should surprise none of her loyal fans who know the Missouri native is a big fan of Andy’s, headquartered in Springfield, not far from her hometown of Willard.
She featured an Andy’s in Springfield in her “Hot to Go” video and has collaborated with the chain to create special concrete flavors, including the “Pink Pony Club.”
Roan and her mom, Kara Amstutz, visited the location in Westport.
“Thank you to Chappell Roan for stopping by one of our KC stores tonight!” Andy’s posted on its Instagram. “She ordered the S’mores Jackhammer.
“We love all the support and love she shows for Andy’s – our very own Midwest princess!”
Fans loved seeing her there, even if it was only on social media.
“I drove past and my boyfriend asked if I wanted ice cream and I told him no, but then I said ‘the girl in line looks like Chappell Roan lol that’s funny’ and I’m seeing this now,” one fan wrote on Andy’s Instagram post.
“I love everything that Kansas City is doing. ...This happiness is what everyone needs. ... I love all of it!!!,” wrote another.
Roan had a casual Thursday, lunching with friends at Mildred’s then shopping at nearby Daisy Lee Vintage in the Crossroads.
In case you’re wondering, Roan’s favorite Andy’s flavor is said to be the James Brownie Funky Jackhammer, a concrete with peanut butter brownies and hot fudge.
Also FYI for concert-goers, the Westport location, at 1200 Westport Road, is open until 11:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and just a short drive from the venue.
