All be it a fake fight between entertainers who know how to make the brawling look real, like a bench-clearing fight in a baseball game. For years, that’s how the annual Big Slick Celebrity Softball game has ended and this year the teams carried on that tradition. And why not, it gets a laugh.
That was what Friday’s game at Kauffman Stadium was mostly about, giving the fans who filled the lower sections of The K something to laugh about. About 40 celebrities who are in Kansas City for the Big Slick Celebrity Weekend, a fundraiser for Children’s Mercy Hospital, made up the softball teams that squared off against each other for four innings of play. The game ended in a tie—and a “brawl.”
The band of jokesters will be providing more laughs Saturday night during the main event, the Big Slick Show at T-Mobile Center where the crew will be tickling more funny bones.
