Motorcyclist dies after missing an exit ramp curve on I-70 in Kansas City

One motorcyclist is dead after crashing during an attempt to take an exit off Interstate 70 in Kansas City.

A red and black Honda CVR600F motorcycle was traveling east on I-70 onto the exit ramp for Beardsley Road Tuesday morning when it failed to take the curve of the ramp and hit the concrete bridge rail.

The motorcyclist was ejected off the bridge, landing on the tracks below, according to Capt. Jake Becchina, spokesperson for the Kansas City Police Department.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, but the investigation is ongoing. This marks the 24th fatality this year, compared to 39 this time last year, according to data tracked by the police department.
