See the kaleidoscope of colors of Holi festival at this Johnson County celebration

Holi, the Hindu festival of colors, celebrates the beginning of spring and the the triumph of good over evil.

On Sunday, people gathered at Corporate Woods Founders’ Park in Overland Park on a sunny, spring day to take part in a belated Holi party. The event was open to anyone and was put on by Absar Events.

Participants took part in the traditional throwing of brightly colored powders . The kaleidoscope of colors symbolize different things in the Hindu culture. Music, dancing and food are also parts of the yearly celebration. The traditional days for the celebration were in the middle of March this year but some celebrations get moved backed for various reasons.
