KCK police investigate fatal shooting after man found outside home with gunshot wounds
Kansas City, Kansas, police are investigating a weekend fatal shooting, after finding a man dead of apparent gunshot wounds outside a home.
Officers were called to the 2600 block of Stewart Avenue around 11 p.m. Saturday on a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a man outside of a home dead from apparent gunshot wounds, said Officer T.J. Tomasic, with the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
Police said a person of interest was being questioned by detectives Sunday.
Additional information about the shooting was not available Monday.
The killing is Kansas City, Kansas’s third killing of the year, according to data tracked by The Star, which includes fatal police shootings. By this time last year, the city had recorded five homicides.
