‘Go dada!’ KC Royals wives celebrate opening day with a tailgate, twillies and toddlers
So, the Royals might not have opened the season they way fans had hoped, losing to Cleveland 7-4 on a picture-perfect day at Kauffman Stadium.
But their families marked the new season with Instagram memories.
Wives showed off new Royals gear — some of which they customized themselves. They tailgated before the game and dressed their tykes in baby blue.
Here’s some of what they shared on social media Thursday.
On the night before Opening Day, little Marcia Wacha, daughter of pitcher Michael Wacha and his wife, Sarah, enjoyed a special book. (You can get “Night Night Kansas City” for $9.99 at Rally House.)
Thursday morning, Tori Ragans, wife of pitcher Cole Ragans, decorated their home with balloons.
Once everyone got to The K ... cheers!
(Non-alcoholic wine, too.)
Wacha showed the tailgate spread the families enjoyed before the game.
New fits must be shown on opening day.
Maggie Witt, wife of shortstop Bobby Witt Jr., customized her outfit with the help of her Cricut machine. How do you think she made all those 7s?
The long scarf tied to Witt’s purse was a gift to the wives from Wacha. It is a twilly, a long, narrow, silk scarf that can serve as a hair accessory, tie, belt, bracelet or, here, accessorize a purse.
(Note to self: We really need to up our style game.)
Where’d you get that coat, Emma Erceg?
Once inside, Witt shared the view on a day made for afternoon baseball.
And let’s hear it for the real winners of the day ... the Royals’ kids.
The Wachas recently shared that Sarah is pregnant with a baby boy. They have a toddler daughter, Marcia, who looks adorable in blue.
Dada!
