Royals families back in KC — new homes, kids at the park, ‘first stop, Garozzo’s’
“That’s a wrap on spring, next stop KC.”
And with that, Emma Erceg, wife of Royals pitcher Lucas Erceg, bid adieu to spring training in Arizona over the weekend and like other Royals families began heading to Kansas City.
The Royals kick off the 2025 season Thursday at Kauffman Stadium against the Cleveland Guardians.
The players themselves got in some last-minute fun, and roller coaster rides, when Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington treated the team to a VIP visit Sunday.
The guys left a strong impression on one park visitor.
“So I’m sitting there at the entrance with my family. Saw a group of tall beautiful men walk through the park. I was looking everywhere for the camera crews. Was convinced they were filming the bachelorette or something. They smelt fantastic,” she wrote on the park’s Instagram.
Meanwhile, players’ wives like Erceg are posting their last family photos from spring training, jetting into Kansas City, moving into their seasonal housing here, taking their kids — some of the cutest tots in MLB, we must say — to local parks and revisiting their favorite local restaurants.
Italian food is a must-have for one wife.
Casey Cameron, wife of pitcher Noah Cameron, posted a gallery of photos from spring training, ending it with a photo of the couple’s 18-month-old son, Auggie, on an airplane, presumably heading to Kansas City.
Cameron, a top prospect from St. Joseph, was added to the 40-man roster in the offseason and could make his big league debut this year.
“A little bit from spring training #4!!! lots of sweet friends & special memories,” Casey Cameron wrote.
Daniella India, wife of Royals infielder Jonathan India, also posted last photos from Arizona.
“The (Indias) are heading to Kansas City,” she wrote on Instagram.
Priscilla Isbel, wife of center fielder Kyle Isbel, posted a photo of their little son, Lane, at the airport. “That time again,” she wrote, adding emojis of a plane, clouds and a baseball.
The Wacha family is neatly tucked into their Kansas City home for the season. The nursery is ready, too.
Pitcher Michael Wacha and his wife, Sarah, who is pregnant, just revealed that they are having a baby boy.
“Our family is growing! Marcia is getting a little brother and we can’t wait to watch her be the best big sis!!!” Sarah wrote on Instagram.
Sarah shared photos and updates this week of the family’s move-in. She gave a shout-out to Kansas City organizing company Spaces by Lindsey and Studio KB Interiors for “theee most seamless baseball move of all time.”
An easy move meant Sarah could take adorable daughter Marcia to the park.
Tori Ragans, wife of pitcher Cole Ragans, apparently had a hiccup with the family dog while moving into the family’s new Kansas City digs.
Kendall Long, wife of relief pitcher Sam Long, is back in town, too. She posted a photo from a local Garozzo’s restaurant on her Instagram Stories. The restaurant, known for it’s Chicken Spiedini, apparently has fans among Royals wives.
“Mandatory first stop,” Erceg commented on Long’s photo when she reposted it.
