A 43-year-old man died after being shot Sunday afternoon outside an apartment unit in midtown Kansas City.

Police identified the victim as Terrance Frost, said Capt. Jacob Becchina with the Kansas City Police Department.

Officers responded to an apartment building in the 400 block of E. Armour Boulevard around 2:15 p.m. on a reported shooting.

Arriving officers were taken upstairs, where they found the victim unresponsive, Becchina said. Frost was declared dead at the scene.

Becchina said homicide investigators were not looking for additional suspects at this time, and there is no threat to residents in the area.

This marks Kansas City’s 40th homicide this year, compared to 26 killings reported during the same period a year ago, according to data tracked by The Kansas City Star that includes officer-involved shootings.
