Children’s Mercy families share photos, videos of unforgettable Taylor Swift visit
Taylor Swift’s visit to Children’s Mercy Hospital on Thursday surprised staff and patients, but it won’t soon be forgotten.
Staff might have been cautioned not to post anything online about the visit, but that didn’t stop patients’ families from flooding social media with their photos and videos of such a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The images show the relaxed, smiling, chatty superstar just four days after the conclusion of her record-breaking Eras Tour. She interacted with children, moms, dads, staff members, even a hospital therapy dog.
“Thank you so much for hanging out with me” she told one patient as she autographed a copy of her new tour book for them.
She signed a tiny football for another.
She made a TikTok set to her song, “Bad Blood,” with one patient.
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy came up in a chat with another patient, who quickly added: “I like Travis now.”
“Yes. Me too,” Swift replied. “That’s an absolute yes on that one.”
She laughed when shown a Kansas Chiefs flag that said “Go, Taylor’s Boyfriend.”
She told one family that people used to call her “Tater” because of her first name.
She was with one patient on their last day of chemotherapy.
A group of employees got so loud with their good-byes they had to be shushed.
But when a hospital official warned someone filming her exit not to post it, Swift herself gently stopped the woman.
There would be no keeping this visit secret for long.
