Police investigating after a man was shot Wednesday in Raytown

Police are searching for an individual who shot a man multiple times Wednesday afternoon in Raytown.

Officers with the Raytown Police Department were dispatched to the 9700 block of 87th Street around 4 p.m. following reports that a person had been shot, according to Mallory Harrison, an Raytown police spokesperson.

Responding officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital.

The man’s condition as of Wednesday night was not immediately clear.

As the department’s investigation into the shooting continues, Raytown police had not taken anyone into custody as of Wednesday night.
