Man dies after argument escalates into shooting in east Kansas City: Police
A man is dead after an argument in east Kansas City escalated into a fatal shooting Friday evening, according to police.
Kansas City police officers responded to the 2000 block of Drury Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Friday following reports of a shooting, according to Officer Alayna Gonzalez, a KCPD spokesperson.
Responding officers found a man lying in the street with gunshot wounds and was later pronounced dead at the scene, Gonzalez said.
The victim was later identified as 30-year-old Rommel U. Nolasco-Manuelez.
Police investigators believe that the man was shot by another man after an argument. Gonzalez said police have not identified a suspect and no one has been taken into custody.
Friday’s shooting was the 122nd homicide reported in Kansas City this year, according to data collected by The Star. At this time last year, 148 homicides had been reported in the city, according to Star data.
