Taylor Swift likely wore this Missouri-made “Trav” bracelet. Jeweler says sales are up
Swifties obsessed over photos of pop star Taylor Swift and her boyfriend — Kansas City Chiefs tight-end Travis Kelce — sharing drinks after Sunday’s game.
And Misha Wilson, co-owner of Joplin-based jewelry company Erimish, did too. Especially when she spotted what she thinks is her bracelet around Swift’s wrist.
The widely circulated picture shows a red and gold beaded bracelet with a slender piece hanging off the back: potentially Erimish’s signature logo tag, Wilson said.
Erimish sells a similar-looking “Trav” bracelet on its website for $21.
The odds of the bracelet being Wilson’s are increased by the fact that Swift was spotted wearing another Erimish bracelet earlier this season.
Swift wore a custom “87” bracelet (a reference to Travis’ jersey number) to a Chiefs game in October after Wilson and co-owner, Ericka Hamilton, gave Randi Mahomes five bracelets for Swift to wear.
“We didn’t expect it to draw this much attention — one little bracelet,” Wilson told The Star at the time. “But it’s a friendship bracelet, and it’s Taylor Swift.”
Wilson also frequently sends bracelets to Donna and Kylie Kelce. Though she doesn’t quite remember whether the “Trav” bracelet was part of an order sent to Randi or Donna, she knows she sent that bracelet to one of the women at some point.
The friendship bracelets are a nod to a diehard Swiftie tradition, as well as a remark Travis made on his podcast, “New Heights,” that ultimately brought the couple together.
“If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts there are friendship bracelets, and I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it,” Travis said in July.
“Your number as in 87, or your phone number?” his brother, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, asked.
“You know which one,” the Chiefs player responded with a smirk.
The Chiefs might not have won on Sunday, but the Erimish team did. Wilson said they’ve appreciated a bump in business thanks to Swift.
“It has definitely helped out sales in our custom bracelet category,” she said.
