Watching a Chiefs game from the comfort of a suite at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium is a luxury most people will never know.
Lately, singer Taylor Swift has scored that perk, watching games alongside beau Travis Kelce’s mother, Donna Kelce, and other members of the Chiefs family.
Now Barefoot Wine, the official wine sponsor of the NFL — did you know there was one? — has teamed up with Mama Kelce to give four football fans a taste of the suite life.
The company launched a contest with the league’s mom-of-the-moment as the prize when the Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles play on “Monday Night Football” Nov. 20. Four people will get to sit in a suite with her as she watches her two sons, Travis and brother Jason, a center for the Eagles, battle it out in a Super Bowl rematch.
Entries are due by 10:59 p.m. CT Wednesday.
The wine company noted in its announcement how an “entirely new audience is entering their football era,” a not-so-veiled reference to Swift fans who have boosted NFL ratings this season because she’s been at Chiefs games.
The fact that some might know more about Swift’s dating life than football has become something of a punchline.
“Let’s face it. Football like wine can be complicated. Trying to learn the rules of the game is just like learning different types of wine. It can be overwhelming,” Donna Kelce said in a video posted to her Instagram account. that included instructions on how to enter.
“That’s why I’m partnering with Barefoot Wine … to introduce the Barefoot Bandwagon Box, a space for one lucky contest winner and three of their favorite friends to enjoy football and wine with me and learn more about both during the Philadelphia versus Kansas City game on Nov. 20.”
Kelce will be there to talk football. Barefoot’s winemaker, Jen Wall, “will be on hand to take them through the wines and speak to the perfect game-day pairings,” the company’s announcement said.
“We want new fans to enjoy the game, and their glass of wine, just as much as everyone else — no expertise needed,” Wall said in press materials.
Pinot grigio, by the way, is Kelce’s favorite wine. She promised to meet the contest winners with a glass of it.
