A juvenile has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a Kansas City, Kansas, teenager, according to police.

Authorities arrested the juvenile, whose name and age were not released, earlier this week. The Wyandotte County District Attorney’s Office charged the juvenile with second-degree murder in the death of 16-year-old JaMarcus D. Lane Jr., according to the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

On June 23, Kansas City, Kansas, officers responded to calls of a shooting around 2:40 p.m. in the 3100 block of West Barker Circle.

Police discovered the 16 year old dead with gunshot wounds inside a residence, said Officer T.J. Tomasic, a spokesman for the department, in a previous statement.

The juvenile charged is being held in Wyandotte County Juvenile Detention Center.
