Warmer conditions coming to Kansas City Easter weekend; patches of morning frost possible
It’s shaping up to be a beautiful Easter weekend in Kansas City as sunny skies will help temperatures climb above normal for this time of year, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures will warm up into the mid-60s on Friday and the upper 60s on Saturday, according to the weather service. On Easter Sunday, temperatures in the low 70s are expected.
Temperatures typically are in the lower 60s this time of year in the Kansas City area.
Conditions are expected to be dry this weekend too. The next chance of rain is expected overnight Sunday into Monday.
Gardeners may be tempted to get a jump on the spring planting season, but they may want to hold off for a few weeks. The weather service advises that pockets of morning frost are possible. Overnight temperatures are expected to be in the upper 30s to upper 40s.
The last frost in Kansas City is usually in early April, but with the unpredictability of the weather, it’s best to hold off until Mother’s Day in May.
The warm up is expected to continue into next week, with temperatures climbing to around 80 degrees by Wednesday and Thursday.
