Immersive Van Gogh,” the traveling art installation for famous painter Vincent van Gogh, sold over 100,000 tickets in Kansas City before its postponement was announced Wednesday.

Now set to open Feb. 28, buyers should have received an email containing new tickets and information about their new date, according to Nick Harkin, a spokesperson for “Immersive Van Gogh.”

Several readers reached out to The Star to share challenges they’ve experienced trying to change their newly assigned ticket time or refund their ticket.

We reached out to “Immersive Van Gogh” to get your questions answered.

What if you can’t attend your new date?

Harkin said this link will allow you to change your date for free. If the link doesn’t work, you can email ticketing@kansascityvangogh.com, and the support team will be able to change the date.

Pro tip: it’s really important to use the specific link sent to you in your email. Just going to the main event website and trying to change your ticket may result in a fee. One reader ran into this fee, emailed the exhibit and had the change made for free.

Harkin told The Star that if you use the link emailed to you, the process should be totally free.

How to get a refund

If you would like a refund, you can email ticketing@kansascityvangogh.com to request one.

One reader told The Star that they received only a partial refund, but Harkin said there should be no such thing. The policy for the exhibit is that tickets can be refunded in full. He told The Star on Thursday that he confirmed the full refund policy with the box office manager. If you’ve been told otherwise, you should email customer service to make sure you receive your full refund.

“Every penny should be refunded if they choose not to keep their tickets or it’s inconvenient for them or they’re frustrated,” Harkin said. “They can get a complete and full refund. We’d prefer they not because it is a great show and they’d really like it if they can wait.”
