More than 100,000 tickets were sold for “Immersive Van Gogh Kansas City,” the experiential exhibit honoring the famous artist that has now been delayed with no location announced, according to an event spokesperson. The organizers have notified ticket holders about the delay through email.

The “Immersive Van Gogh” exhibit was set to open at an unnamed site in Kansas City on Dec. 1 and has now been pushed to the end of February. Show producer Corey Ross said in a statement that the delay is “due to challenges in finding a suitable venue.”

While the exhibit has opened in 16 different cities around North America, some of those locations also faced delays. Exhibits from the same company in St. Louis, Pittsburgh and Dallas had unexpectedly late openings.

If you’ve already bought one of the 100,000 tickets sold for the event, here’s what’s going on.

How to change your ticket date

Ross said in an emailed statement that buyers will receive new tickets for a specific date and time from Universe.com within the upcoming days. The message may end up in your spam folder. You can request a change of date for free if the date they reassign you doesn’t work.

Immersive Van Gogh will also be giving all rescheduled buyers a gift card that can be used at the exhibit’s gift shop. The details of the gift card will be sent closer to the new opening date.

How to get a refund

If you would like a refund, email ticketing@kansascityvangogh.com, and their customer service team will issue a full refund to the original form of payment.

Wait—wasn’t there a second Van Gogh exhibit in Kansas City?

Yes! There are two experiential Van Gogh exhibits in Kansas City. Starlight Theatre and The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art’s Van Gogh Alive: The Experience is open until Dec. 31. More information about that exhibit can be found here.
