One killed, two critically injured in crash at K-7 and Leavenworth Road in KCK

A 41-year-old man was killed and two other people were seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash late Saturday at Kansas 7 and Leavenworth Road, according to Kansas City, Kansas police.

Police and emergency crews responded to the scene of the wreck just before midnight.

The victim was eastbound on Leavenworth Road when the vehicle he was driving struck another vehicle that was northbound on K-7, according to a news release from the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department.

The victim, whose name and age have not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The occupants of the northbound vehicle, a 21-year-old female, and a 23-year-old male, were taken to a hospital and were listed in critical condition late Sunday, police said in a news release.

Details of how the crash occurred remains under investigation, police said.
