Bicyclist injured after hitting vehicle in Kansas City, Kansas, police say

A bicyclist was hospitalized Tuesday evening after striking a vehicle in Kansas City, Kansas, police said.

Officers responded to the incident just before 8 p.m. Tuesday in the 1000 block of Parallel Parkway, according to the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department.

A preliminary investigation showed the bicyclist struck a dark-colored vehicle, police said. The cyclist was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and was receiving care, police said in a statement Wednesday.

The driver stayed at the scene.

Police’s traffic support unit and critical collision response team continued to investigate the incident Wednesday.
