Overland Park woman, 25, dies in Douglas County crash between Prius and truck

A 25-year-old woman was killed in a crash between a Prius and a truck Monday afternoon in Douglas County, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Deeva Sharma, of Overland Park, was driving a 2010 Toyota Prius on U.S. Highway 56 about 2 1/2 miles west of Edgerton about 4:30 p.m. Monday when the crash occurred, according to the highway patrol. The other vehicle involved was a 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 truck. The driver of the truck had no apparent injuries.

The crash was still under investigation.

The highway patrol reports Sharma was wearing a seat belt.
