Two people killed in Northland house fire were brother and sister, KCFD says

Two people died in a Northland house fire Monday morning, Kansas City fire officials said.

Kansas City Fire Department Deputy Chief Jimmy Walker said the call came in about 4:45 a.m. When firefighters arrived at the house in the 6000 block of NE Seattle Avenue, they saw heavy fire coming from the home. Walker said crews had the fire in control within an hour.

Two adults, a brother and sister, were found dead inside the home, Walker said.

The woman was believed to be in her 60s and had Alzheimer’s disease, Walker said. Officials did not know the age of the brother.

Fire officials did not immediately release the names of the two people.
