Motorcyclist suffers life-threatening injuries in collision with Jeep in Independence

A motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries in a wreck Thursday morning in Independence, police said.

A Honda motorcycle and a Jeep collided about 6:30 a.m. along East 23rd Street at South Arlington Avenue, according to the Independence Police Department.

The motorcycle was headed west on 23rd when it collided with the Jeep as it was turning left from southbound Arlington to eastbound 23rd, police said.

The motorcycle rider was rushed to a hospital for treatment of his injuries. The driver of the jeep was not injured.

The cause of the wreck remains under investigation, police said.
