After 2 residents die, 4 more test positive for COVID-19 at Cass County nursing home
An additional four residents have tested positive for the new coronavirus at a Cass County nursing home, bringing the total number of residents in isolation there to 10.
The residents of Meadow View Health and Rehabilitation in Harrisonville range in age from their 50s to their 80s. They and six other residents who have tested positive for the virus remained isolated on site, the facility said Sunday.
Two residents of the facility have died. They were women in their 80s with underlying health conditions.
One staff member at the facility has tested positive for the virus. The results of two other residents’ tests were pending.
As of Sunday, 4,160 people tested positive for the virus in Missouri and 110 died. In Kansas, there have been 1,337 cases and 56 deaths.
Combined, there were at least 53 deaths and more than 1,200 cases in the Kansas City metropolitan area.
Across the United States, more than 550,000 people have tested positive for the coronavirus and more than 21,700 people have died, according to Johns Hopkins University.
