Missouri reports 90 positive COVID-19 cases in the state as of Saturday
The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services is reporting that at least 90 people in the state have tested positive for the new coronavirus, according to statistics released Saturday night.
On Friday, the state was reporting 73 COVID-19 cases.
Additional cases have been identified in areas including Kansas City, St. Louis County, the city of St. Louis, Greene County, Boone County and Johnson County, Missouri, which announced its first case Saturday.
Three Missourians have died from COVID-19, including two women whose deaths were announced by officials on Friday: a woman in her 60s in St. Louis County and a woman in her 80s from Jackson County.
A breakdown of the number of cases by county was updated Saturday night, though a disclaimer posted on the state health department website states that cases by county are posted as information is verified and patients are notified, so the data may not be complete. Some test results come from the state laboratory while others are included from private laboratories.
According to the state health department website, at least 31 cases were identified as travel-related while 12 were determined as cases involving people who had contact with someone with COVID-19. Seven are listed as “no contact” cases, and 40 cases are listed as “unknown.”
The 90 cases reported Saturday night were also broken down by the age range:
- One patient is under the age of 20
- 24 patients are in their 20s
- 13 patients are in their 30s
- 9 patients are in their 40s
- 13 patients are in their 50s
- 17 patients are in their 60s
- 13 patients are 70 or older
The state is expected to provide another update on Sunday night.
