2 new stores coming to Northland, including growing Kansas City clothing brand
A popular department store and a local women’s clothing store are opening in the Northland’s Zona Rosa shopping center.
The Petite Frame is opening this Saturday at 7250 NW 86th Terrace, according to a Zona Rosa news release. The locally owned boutique, started by Jessica Reynolds, sells elevated every day clothing for women between 4’10 and 5’4”. It began earlier this year with online drops.
“We’re not ‘shrinking’ standard sizing. We’re designing for petite from day one,” the company said in an Instagram post.
The shop opens at 10 a.m., and the first 25 people in line get a mystery gift card to be used that day and a free cap sleeve mock neck sweater tee, according to an Instagram post. Those who make a purchase that day will be entered to win a $200 shopping spree.
MiniSo, a Chinese company that sells everything from household goods to food and beverages, will be moving next to Helzberg at 7220 NW 86th Place this coming September.
Founded in 2013, Miniso carries items like plush dolls, miniature lamps and perfume. Businessman Ye Guofo jump-started Miniso after vacationing in Japan with his family and admiring its stores, which carried Chinese-made products at discounted prices.
The other Kansas City-area Miniso location opened in 2024 inside the Oak Park Mall.
On Monday, Zona Rosa announced Urban Planet, a popular affordable Canadian clothing brand, was opening in the old Forever 21 space at 7121 NW 86th Terrace in Zona Rosa this September.
“The continued growth of nationally recognized brands at Zona Rosa reflects our commitment to being the Northland’s premier destination,” Scott Zigler, general manager of Zona Rosa, said in the release. “We’re excited to welcome Urban Planet to our community and look forward to the experience they’ll bring to our shoppers.”
Other recent openings include Boutique Collective-The Blossom, Culver’s, Crafty Claw Creations and the upcoming opening of Burlington. Bo Lings, American Eagle Outfitters, Sephora, Barnes & Noble and more also have locations in the shopping center.
