A gourmet toast and juice franchise will open its first location in the Kansas City area this weekend, featuring an all-day menu.

Toastique, which serves cold-press juices, smoothies, gourmet toasts, acai bowls, coffee, teas and more will open to the public Saturday at 6445 W. 135th St. in Overland Park near the Corbin Park Shopping Mall. It’s the first Kansas City-area location.

The company was started in Washington, D.C., in 2018 by collegiate cheerleader Brianna Keefe, who wanted to make a wellness café that offered all natural smoothies, juices and toast. It has since expanded to over 60 locations across the country.

The Smoked Salmon (herbed cream cheese, arugula, cucumber, smoked pastrami salmon pickled onion, capers, toasty seasoning, microgreens and lemon twist; $16). It is typically served on sourdough toast, but I got the gluten free bread for $2 more.

The Star tried the Smoked Salmon Gourmet Toast (herbed cream cheese, arugula, cucumber, smoked pastrami salmon pickled onion, capers, toasty seasoning, microgreens and lemon twist; $16). It is typically served on sourdough toast, can come with gluten-free bread for $2 more.

For the cold-pressed juice, the Star ordered the Metabolize (cucumber, jalapeño, pineapple, green apple and mint; $10.50).

Gourmet toasts range from $13 to $17, juices are $10.50 and acai bowls range from $13 to $16. Smoothies come in either 16 ounce or 24 ounce. Toastique also offers overnight oats and a protein waffle.

Toastique will have a formal opening day Saturday. The first 100 customers will get a $50 Toastique reward dollars with any toast purchase, according to a news release. Everyone else will get a free drip coffee or small juice (12 ounce) with any $10+ purchase.

The Oak Park location is managed by local entrepreneur Jonathan Willis, who is also the founder of a fitness studio.

“Overland Park has been growing exponentially for quite some time and is the perfect city to introduce the area’s very first Toastique in,” Willis said in the release. “The brand brings authentic marketing and fits in seamlessly with the demographic and customer needs here, and will provide a service that they will resonate with .”

Toastique will be open every day from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
