Martin City Brewing Co. is looking to elevate its game in the metro — both literally and figuratively.

Its new spot, Martin City Tavern & Terrace, serves its signature pizzas as well as expanded menu items like smashburgers and tacos. Its IPAs and stouts are still on tap at the new location.

But its perhaps most notable offering is the rooftop terrace that offers panoramic views.

The restaurant opened in the Crossroads, 1999 Main St., on Friday, welcoming crowds onto its upper deck (and inside seating).

This is the company’s seventh location overall and is part of a push to grow and evolve the brand.

“Downtown Kansas City is experiencing incredible momentum, and this felt like the right time to be part of it,” CEO Matt Moore said in a press release. “We’re bringing what people already love about Martin City into the heart of the Crossroads—great beer, chef-driven food, craft cocktails, and a rooftop terrace built for connection.”

The brand opened its first Martin City Tavern location last year, offering a more comprehensive menu than its other pizza-centric spots. Martin City Tavern took over Spin! Pizza on the South Plaza at 4950 Main St.

The business got its start in 2011, first as a small microbrewery in Martin City. In 2014, it opened a pizza and taproom next door.

Its new location offers ahi tuna tacos (radish, jalapeno slaw, ponzu dressing and cilantro for $19), pretzel bites with beer cheese ($12.5), a chicken Caesar wrap ($13), and steak frites (8-ounce sir loin steak with chimichurri butter, fries and au jus for $32).

Pizza options include the Thai chicken (peanut sauce, chicken, red pepper, red onion, shredded carrot and cabbage, broccoli, cilantro, scallion, peanut and sriracha sauce), pig and prosciutto (garlic cream sauce, fig marmalade, prosciutto, arugula, balsamic glaze, Parmesan), margherita (fresh mozzarella, grape tomatoes, basil and Parmesan cheese), and hot honey pepperoni (cured pepperoni, fresh basil and hot honey).

An 8-inch pizza is $14, 12-inch is $22.50, and $16-inch is $27.95.

Martin City Tavern & Terrace is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays, and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
