Popular Johnson County gourmet deli is opening another location

A popular Johnson County sandwich shop and deli — which has been serving Overland Park residents sandwiches for less than a year — is opening another location.

La Fetta Delicatessen is coming to Prairie Village’s Corinth Quarter at 83rd Street and Mission Road, neighboring Panera Bread and the future Brookside Barkery.

Owner Adam Bracco said they’re hoping to open the spot in August or September.

Since his original location at 14363 Metcalf Ave. opened in October, Bracco has been feeding hordes of customers from around the city, all eager to try his sandwiches.

Several customers told him it was “the best sandwich they’ve had,” he told The Star when the deli opened.

The recipes are created by his partner, Matt Benzel, who owns deli Tagliare in Montana.

A few favorites are the Sublime (prosciutto, hot soppressata, burrata, fresh walnut pesto, spicy garlic aioli, sun-dried tomatoes and arugula), Beach Boy (turkey, bacon, Swiss, spicy garlic aioli, avocado spread, red onion, tomatoes and greens) and the Queen (turkey, bacon, fresh mozzarella, fresh walnut pesto, pepperoncini, piquillo peppers and basil).

Since opening his original location, he’s been contacted about opening spots on the Plaza, Shawnee, Olathe and beyond. But Prairie Village is a sentimental spot for Bracco and his wife. They purchased their first home there.

“A lot of people have reached out to us in regards to opening a new location,” he said. “We’re kind of going back to our roots.”

Bracco aims to make the new spot “90% the same” as his other location, though it will be larger and have more seating.

In addition to its sandwiches, it will sell charcuterie and other deli items, like homemade pasta salad and tiramisu.

Corinth Quarter will also soon see the arrival of Flower Child, an Arizona-based feel-good eatery that will open at 3915 W. 83rd St.

In nearby Corinth Square, Mexican-inspired eatery Casa will open at 8228 Mission Road this spring, courtesy of Billie’s owner Robin Krause.
