St. Louis’ Imo’s Pizza has opened its third location in the Kansas City metro — this one farther north than its sister spots.

The new spot opened in the Northland at 8502 N. Jefferson St. on Monday, serving barbecue chicken pizzas, toasted ravioli, Italian sandwiches and other menu items.

The chain offers St. Louis-style pies with cracker-thin crust, sweet tomato sauce and Provel cheese.

Imo’s has spots in Kansas City, Kansas, at 4200 Rainbow Blvd. and 11552 W. 135th St. in Overland Park. The brand entered the Kansas City market in 2020 but has been around for more than 60 years.

It has nearly 100 locations in Missouri, Kansas and Illinois.

In a recent media release, Imo’s announced that it’s looking to expand its presence in the Kansas City metro and is actively looking for franchisees.

PaPPo’s Pizzeria announced last year that it would open in the d’Bronx space in Overland Park at 7070 W. 105th St. The location is yet to open, and updates on its status were not immediately available Wednesday.
