Made in Kansas City — a well-known gift shop brand promoting selling local products — is getting ready to launch another location.

The next Made in KC neighborhood shop will open a permanent space in Oak Park Mall, likely in mid-November. It will take over a spot formerly home to Nine Leather and Fossil, on the second floor near the food court.

Keith Bradley, one of Made in KC’s founders, said he’s been eyeing Oak Park Mall for a while.

“They consistently have great traffic, tenants and make pivots to adjust to trends and customers,” he said in a written statement to The Star. “We love bringing more local goods to parts of KC where there aren’t a lot of local options and this is one of those.”

Oak Park Mall is in Overland Park at 11149 W. 95th St.

Made in KC first launched in 2015 in Overland Park’s Prairiefire neighborhood.

The spot in Oak Park Mall marks Made in KC’s eighth neighborhood shop (gift shop-style store) in the metro. The brand also has three Made in KC Marketplace locations (a gift shop and coffee shop combination) and one Made in KC Cafe.

The shops sell a variety of products: KC-themed tees, ornaments, locally made barbecue sauces, dog treats, jewelry, mugs and more.

Not far away from Oak Park Mall, Made in KC has another Overland Park spot at 7325 W. 80th St., in the city’s downtown district.
