National Korean barbecue and hot pot chain KPot has opened its third location in the Kansas City area.

The chain opened its newest location in the Metro North Crossing development, a 106-acre mixed use development formerly home to the Metro North Mall.

KPot opened last week at 8502 N Jefferson St.

Two years ago, it opened its first area spot in Overland Park at 7001 W. 135th St. Late last year, it opened another spot in the Legends Outlets Kansas City at 1705 Village West Parkway in Kansas City, Kansas.

At KPot, customers choose from a selection of meat, seafood, noodles, veggies and other raw ingredients. They place the ingredients on a grill built into the table or in a soup pot and cook everything to their liking.

Meat options include marinated bulgogi beef, pork belly, spicy chicken and garlic shrimp.

The chain boasts of being the “largest and fastest-growing Korean BBQ and hot pot restaurant in the U.S.” with over 100 locations in the country, according to a media release. It first opened in New Jersey in 2018.

Today, it has restaurants in Arkansas, Texas, Arizona, South Carolina, New York, Virginia, Maryland and beyond.

Metro North Crossing is home to several other restaurants and retailers, including T-Shotz, Olive Garden and soon, Furniture Mall of Missouri.

A few weeks ago, locally owned Thai Orchid opened its second restaurant in the development.
