A Korean chain with restaurants across the country is now open in Johnson County, its first in the Kansas City area, as part of an expansion across the Midwest.

The KPot in Overland Park opened in March at 7001 W. 135th St. in Corbin Park. It’s a hot pot and Korean barbecue restaurant, where servers bring out raw ingredients.

Customers can order platters of sliced meat, like prime brisket or pork belly, noodles, veggies or seafood. Then, they place the entree on a small grill built into the table and cook it just to their liking.

The restaurant offers a full bar, serving cocktails and beer on tap.

Other locations can be found in Texas, New York, Utah and beyond. Dozens of locations across the Midwest are listed on its website as opening soon, with two already operating in Ohio and Michigan.

The KPot in Overland Park is open daily, from noon to 10:30 p.m.
