Popular Kansas City ice cream shop is opening yet another Johnson County location
Kansas City favorite Betty Rae’s Ice Cream is on the move. Again.
The company will open its sixth location in the metro — and the fourth in Johnson County — at 6936 W. 135th St. in Overland Park.
The shop is projected to open in May, according to Betty Rae’s.
In 2023, owner Matt Shatto purchased the company in hopes of rapidly expanding it in the metro and beyond. It opened a spot in Olathe months later at 10470 S. Ridgeview Road.
Last year, Betty Rae’s opened stores in Merriam at 5740 Antioch Road and in Prairie Village at 5330 W. 95th St., as well as a location in Omaha, Nebraska.
Betty Rae’s also sells pints in 28 metro Cosentino-owned Price Chopper, SunFresh and Cosentino’s Market stores.
The brand offers 26 flavors, like creme brulee, cookie dough, gooey butter cake and more.
